Why we recommend the desktop app
Checks run on our servers by default. Install the app and your checks switch to it automatically whenever it’s open, with no settings to change. Both use the same clean, logged-out Chrome session, so your results stay consistent wherever a check runs.

The app searches over your home or office internet. To Google it looks like an ordinary visitor rather than a data centre, so searches go through with fewer CAPTCHAs and interruptions.

Desktop app questions
Do I need the desktop app?
No. Every check runs on our servers when the app isn’t open. The app adds a real connection and a person on hand, which means fewer CAPTCHAs and more complete results, so we recommend it for any project you check often.
Does it use my own Chrome profile?
No. Checks open in their own clean, logged-out Chrome window, so your browsing history, bookmarks and signed-in accounts aren’t used.
What happens when my computer is off?
Checks switch back to our servers automatically while your weekly allowance lasts, and move to the app again the next time it’s open.
Does it work on Mac?
Not yet. The app is for Windows 10 and 11.

Set up once, then it just runs
The download is personal to your account, so there’s nothing to type. It can start with Windows, so checks run whenever your PC is on.
- Buy a plan or start a free trial (14 days, no card needed), then sign in, open Desktop app and click Download for Windows.
- Extract the zip and double-click Install.bat.
- The SERP Tracker Desktop icon appears on your desktop. Keep it open and press Run check on the website.
